Mahindra Thar Waiting Period: Mahindra Thar, one of the most popular off-road SUVs in India has been witnessing strong demand in India due to its striking appearance and off-road capabilities. To meet this growing demand, Mahindra has increased the production of the off-road SUV significantly reducing the waiting period for the Thar to an average of 52 weeks.

Mahindra Thar - Waiting Period 

Mahindra Thar is available after an average waiting period of 52 weeks which essentially means that if you book a Mahindra Thar in February 2024, you can expect delivery around early 2025. Despite being three years old in the market, the Thar continues to be a strong seller for Mahindra while outperforming competitors like the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. In January 2024 alone, Mahindra sold 6,059 units of the three-door Thar in India. The rear-wheel-drive variant of the SUV has been particularly popular, contributing to its ongoing success. Currently, there are still approximately 71,000 pending bookings for the Thar, with around 7,000 new bookings coming in each month.

Mahindra Thar - Price and Engine Specs 

Mahindra Thar is available in India with its prices starting from Rs 11.25 lakh that go up to Rs 17.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The Mahindra Thar is available in two variants - Soft Top and Hard Top. Talking about the engine specs, it is available with two engine options - a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. Both these engines are capable of producing a power output of 152 bhp and 132 bhp, respectively.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door 

After tasting success with the Mahindra Thar 3-door, the Indian manufacturer is now working on a 5-door variant of the Mahindra Thar. The Thar 5-door has been spotted testing in India several times, hinting that it is slated to be launched soon in the Indian market. The Mahindra Thar 5-door is expected to be launched in the country in the second half of 2024.
