Mahindra XEV 9S EV Debut: Mahindra has revealed the name of its new all-electric SUV, which is scheduled to make its global debut on November 27. It is called the XEV 9S and will be unveiled in a 7-seat configuration. The upcoming XEV 9S will be positioned above the XEV 9e in Mahindra's India lineup, marking a major step in Mahindra's EV expansion strategy for the Indian market.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Born Electric Built on INGLO

Like the Mahindra XEV 9e, the new 7-seat version is a born-electric SUV built from the ground up. It will be based on the company's modular and scalable electric skateboard, called INGLO. Designed specifically for electric vehicles, the INGLO architecture currently underpins the BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs.

Mahindra has yet to disclose other details on the XEV 9S EV, including battery specifications. Having said that, being a bigger version of the XEV 9e, the 7-seat XEV 9S will offer a longer wheelbase with its three-row layout. It is expected to share design elements with the XUV.e8 concept showcased in 2022, while having its own identity and focus on a different set of buyers.

Mahindra XEV 9S: Expected Range

As for the battery and range output, we expect a battery pack that offers a range of more than 500km. For reference, the XEV 9e is available in two battery configurations: 59kWh and 79kWh. The former returns 656km, while the latter yields 542km. Both are MIDC figures.
