Automobili Pininfarina, renowned for its luxury and high-performance vehicles, is developing a new SUV that could become the most expensive in the world. It is expected to be priced between 400,000 euros and one million euros. This new model will significantly surpass the Ferrari Purosangue, which costs around 380,000 euros.
Automobili Pininfarina, owned by Mahindra, is known for creating some of the most rare and high-performing vehicles. Their electric Battista supercar, for example, was limited to just 150 units and boasts 1,900 bhp with a top speed exceeding 402 km/h. This makes it the most powerful Italian supercar ever made.
In a recent interview with Bloomberg, CEO Paolo Dellacha confirmed that the company is indeed working on this new SUV. He revealed that the SUV will be priced between 400,000 euros and one million euros and will offer sports car-like performance suitable for everyday use. “We are looking to evolve into a segment where production numbers might be higher. The new vehicle will sit in between the world of sports cars and maximum usability,” said Dellacha.
Despite the company's current annual production capacity of just 25 units for the Battista, Dellacha indicated that the new SUV would eventually increase production numbers. The exclusive nature of Pininfarina's vehicles means that even with higher production, the SUV will remain a rare possession.

While Battista focuses on electric technology, Dellacha hinted at exploring different technologies and segments for future models. “We have started electric because it allows you to reach the highest level of performance. But for the future, we will also be exploring different segments and different technologies,” he said. Although Dellacha did not provide specific details about the power source for the upcoming SUV, it is clear that performance will be a central focus. Whether powered by electric or alternative fuels, this new model is set to redefine luxury and performance in the SUV market.
