The Indian automotive industry has been growing significantly and has been witnessing a growing demand in the compact SUV segment. Aligning with this demand, automobile manufacturers in India have introduced several sub-four metre compact SUV models in the country. The sub-four metre compact SUV segment includes popular models such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Punch, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.

Best Selling Compact SUVs In February 2024 In India

In February 2024, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza emerged as the leader in its segment, surpassing competitors like the Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet. With sales exceeding 55,000 units, the Brezza secured the top position, making it the best-selling compact SUV in India in February 2024. It claimed nearly 30 per cent of the market share in the sub-four metre compact SUV segment, with 15,765 units sold. While the Maruti Suzuki Brezza ranked fifth among all passenger vehicles sold in India, the Tata Nexon also made it to the top 10, securing the ninth position with 14,395 units sold. Tata Nexon secured the position of the second best-selling compact SUV.

Despite being a relatively new manufacturer in India, Kia has made significant strides in the Indian automotive market with models like the Seltos and Sonet. The Kia Sonet performed well, securing the third position in the compact SUV segment with 9,102 units sold. Following closely behind were the Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV300, with 8,933 units and 4,218 units sold, respectively. Nissan's sole offering in India, the Magnite, plays a crucial role in the brand's local strategy, contributing to its presence in the country's automotive market. The Nissan Magnite recorded sales of 2,755 units in February 2024. Additionally, Renault competes in this segment with its Kiger compact SUV, which sold 1,047 units during the same period.
