Maruti Suzuki E Vitara Safety Rating: The soon-to-launch Maruti Suzuki electric SUV has received a perfect 5-star safety score from Bharat NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme), joining its primary rival, the Mahindra BE 6, in earning a 5-star rating in both adult occupant protection (AOP) and child occupant protection (COP). Bharat NCAP crash-tested the top-spec Alpha 61kWh variant of the electric SUV, but the ratings apply to the Delta 49kWh, Zeta 61kWh, and Alpha 61kWh variants.
Maruti Suzuki E Vitara AOP Crash Test Results
The e-Vitara is the fourth model from India's largest automaker to be crash-tested by BNCAP after the Dzire, Baleno, and the Invicto, and it secured an AOP score of 31.49 out of a maximum 32 points, earning 15.49/16 and 16/16 in the frontal offset and side movable deformable barrier tests. According to Bharat NCAP, the driver dummy had adequate to good protection for its chest, head, pelvis, thighs, and legs, while the front passenger dummy had good protection for all critical areas. In the side movable deformable barrier as well, the Vitara demonstrated good protection to the occupant's head, chest, abdomen, and other critical areas. The eSUV was also rated 'OK' in the side pole impact test.
Maruti Suzuki E Vitara COP Crash Test Results
In the COP tests, the e-Vitara earned 43 out of 49 points, achieving a 5-star rating. While the eSUV scored full marks in both dynamic (24/24) and CRS installation tests (12/12), it managed only 7 points out of a total 13. Both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies were tested in rearward-facing child seats, supported by ISOFIX anchorages. The vehicle, however, missed out on integrated CRS.
Maruti Suzuki E Vitara: Safety Features
Built on an all-new HEARTECT-e platform, the eSUV prioritises safety with seven airbags, an electronic parking brake, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitor, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, a 360-degree camera, and a Level 2 ADAS suite. The prices for the eSUV are yet to be revealed, but we expect the automaker to target a price range of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom).
