Maruti Suzuki E Vitara: Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its first-ever electric vehicle for India, the e-Vitara, on December 2, 2025. Positioned as the company's global strategy battery electric vehicle (BEV), the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is exclusively manufactured at the Hansalpur plant in Gujarat, which also serves as an export hub. The electric SUV was initially scheduled to go on sale in March, but supply bottlenecks, combined with other external factors, had pushed back the launch by a few months.  With the company finally announcing the price of the much-awaited e-Vitara on the said date, here's what to expect:

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Battery, Range

The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara utilises an all-new platform developed in collaboration with Toyota. The brand is expected to initially offer the BEV in two battery configurations (49kWh and 61kWh), with the larger battery pack claiming an MIDC range of more than 500km. Overseas, both batteries are paired with a front axle-mounted electric motor, delivering up to 172bhp. The all-wheel-drive version (AllGrip-e in Suzuki speak) of the e-Vitara is likely to be added at a later date.

With the e-Vitara, Maruti Suzuki is expected to offer three ride modes (Eco, Normal, and Sports), along with a regenerative braking system for improved efficiency.
