Maruti Suzuki dominates the Indian car market, with a substantial portion of its sales driven by CNG models. These models are sold through Arena outlets, including the Dzire, Alto, Ertiga, WagonR, Celerio, Eeco, S-Presso and Brezza. Additionally, models like the Fronx, Baleno, Grand Vitara and XL6 are available through Nexa outlets.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki vehicles feature a single CNG tank, which occupies much of the boot space, leading to frequent customer complaints about limited storage. It appears that Maruti Suzuki may address this issue by introducing a dual-tank setup, similar to what Tata Motors uses in its CNG models like the Tigor, Tiago, and Punch. This setup involves two smaller tanks instead of one large unit, thus freeing up more boot space. Apart from the dual-tank system, Maruti Suzuki might also implement other enhancements to improve the safety, reliability and performance of its CNG kits.

This move comes at a strategic time, as Maruti Suzuki anticipates a 30 per cent increase in CNG car sales, aiming to reach 6 lakh units in the current fiscal year. A senior company official also mentioned plans to boost exports to around 3 lakh units. These updates and goals align with Maruti Suzuki's efforts to strengthen its position in the CNG vehicle market and meet growing consumer demand.
