German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz unveiled the facelifts of its two models - Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV and Mercedes AMG C 43 sedan earlier this year. Mercedes-Benz India has now announced that the facelifts of both these models will be launched on November 2 for the Indian markets. 

Mercedes-Benz GLE Facelift - Design, Interior and Features 

The Mercedes-Benz GLE facelift is redesigned as it gets everything new including a front bumper, LED headlights, alloy wheels and tail-lights. Talking about the interiors, the Mercedes-Benz GLE facelift features a new multifunction steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, new MBUX infotainment system and a Mercedes’ Distronic Plus cruise control functionality.

Mercedes-Benz GLE Facelift - Powertrain 

The Mercedes-Benz GLE facelift is likely to be available in three broad variants - 300d, 450d and 450. The 300d variant produces 269 bhp/550 Nm, the 450d variant generates 367 bhp/ 750 Nm and the 450 variant produces 381 bhp/ 500 Nm of power output. Mercedes has also introduced two hybrid-powertrain variants for the GLE, however, their arrival in India hasn’t been confirmed. Additionally, the ICE variants are paired with a 48V integrated starter-generator that helps in producing an additional 20 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. 

Mercedes-AMG C 43 Facelift - Design and Interior 

The Mercedes-AMG C 43 facelift gets distinguishable design features like AMG’s Panamericana grille with vertical slats, adaptive LED headlights with a single DRLs, front bumper with black air intakes, black wing mirrors, muscular side sills, 18-inch alloy wheels, quad tailpipes and a new rear bumper with a diffuser. Moving inside, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 facelift gets a 2.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 11.9-inch touchscreen. The steering wheel, sports seats and pedals are all wrapped in leather. 

Mercedes-AMG C 43 Facelift - Powertrain 

The Mercedes-AMG C 43 facelift has replaced the 3.0-litre V6 engine with a new 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine with an electric turbocharger, called the M139. This new 48V hybrid powertrain generates 402 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. Additionally, a ‘boost’ function is also present that helps in generating more power. This powertrain is coupled to a 9-speed AMT with a ‘Race Start’ feature that sends power to all the wheels of the sedan.

Mercedes-Benz GLE and Mercedes-AMG C 43 - Rivals 

The Mercedes-Benz GLE competes with BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Range Rover Velar in the Indian market. SImilarly, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 directly rivals the BMW M340i and the Audi S5 Sportback in India.
