Mercedes-Benz India has launched the new GLS SUV for the Indian market which debuted for global markets last year. The German luxury automaker has launched the facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLS at a starting price of Rs 1.32 crore (ex-showroom). The 2024 GLS SUV has been launched in two variants - 450 and 450d with their prices varying between Rs 1.32 crore and Rs 1.37 crore (ex-showroom).
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift - Design
A significantly notable change in the new GLS compared to its predecessor is the redesigned grille, featuring four horizontal chrome strips instead of two. The updated model also showcases a new daytime running lamp (DRL) signature, a distinct block pattern on the rear tail-lights and 21-inch alloy wheels. It is available in five distinct exterior colour schemes - Obsidian Black, High-tech Silver, Sodalite Blue, Selenite Grey, and Polar White.
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift - Interior
The GLS facelift provides a range of interior upholstery options such as black, beige, and brown, all crafted in faux leather. The 2024 GLS facelift gets upgraded features like a new steering wheel, heated and cooled seats, wireless charging, latest MBUX system, new 360-degree camera, adjustable air suspension, ADAS functions and a standard 'Rear Seat Comfort' package that elevates luxury for rear passengers. This package includes head restraints, front seat controls for additional space, electric sunblinds, two 11.6-inch entertainment screens and a tablet for controlling these features.
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift - Engine Specs
The Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift is available with two powertrain configurations - a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of generating 381 bhp and 500 Nm of torque and a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine that is capable of producing 367 bhp and 700 Nm of torque. Both models are equipped with a mild-hybrid system with an integrated starter generator (ISG) delivering an additional 20 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. The GLS is equipped with a 9-speed automatic gearbox to send power to all four wheels of the SUV and boasts a water-wading depth of 500 mm.
