MG Comet EV, ZS EV Price Hiked In India: MG Motor has announced a price hike for its MG Comet EV and MG ZS EV models. However, this increase does not affect the lower-spec variants of either vehicle. Let’s take a look at the details of the new pricing. Notably, there are no new features or design changes along with this price hike. Additionally, please remember that all prices mentioned below are ex-showroom.

MG Comet EV
For the MG Comet EV, the base Executive and Excite trims remain unchanged at Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 7.98 lakh, respectively. However, the Excite FC, Exclusive and Exclusive FC trims have seen a price increase ranging from Rs 11,000 to Rs 13,000. The Exclusive FC now costs Rs 9.37 lakh, up from Rs 9.24 lakh, while the Exclusive trim is priced at Rs 9 lakh, an increase of Rs 12,000. The Excite FC is now Rs 8.45 lakh, up by Rs 11,000. The 100 Year Limited Edition remains at Rs 9.40 lakh with no change.
The MG Comet EV is a compact four-seater hatchback that is equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery. This battery pack offers an ARAI-claimed range of up to 230 km. Its electric motor produces a power output of 42 bhp and 110 Nm. While it has no direct competitors in India, it stands as a cost-effective alternative to models like the Tata Tiago EV and Citroen eC3.
MG ZS EV
For the MG ZS EV, the Executive and Excite Pro trims continue to be priced at Rs 18.98 lakh and Rs 19.98 lakh, respectively, with no price increase. The 100 Year Limited Edition also remains unchanged at Rs 24.18 lakh. However, the higher-end trims have seen price increases as the Exclusive Plus now costs Rs 24.23 lakh, up by Rs 25,000, and the Essence trim is priced at Rs 25.23 lakh, also an increase of Rs 25,000. Dual-tone versions have seen a Rs 24,000 hike, with the Exclusive Plus DT now at Rs 24.44 lakh and the Essence DT at Rs 25.44 lakh.

The MG ZS EV is powered by a 50.3 kWh battery pack, delivering an ICAT-claimed range of 461 km. It is equipped with an electric motor that churns out a power output of 177 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. It competes with the Hyundai Kona Electric and BYD Atto 3. Additionally, it can be considered a more expensive alternative to the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV, which are positioned in a lower segment.
