The National Legal Services Authority has officially released the National Lok Adalat 2023 Schedule. It is scheduled to take place on September 9, across the country. Anyone with a pending challan for driving without a valid licence, motor insurance, permit, vehicle fitness certificate, etc. can settle it by paying a small amount and can also get the entire challan waived.

In order to get your challan cancelled or waived off entirely, you have to follow a procedure to get a token for your challan, which would then be presented to the Lok Adalat for further processing. The procedure to get a token is as follows:

Step 1 - Go to the official website of the National Legal Services Authority at https://nalsa.gov.in/.
Step 2 - Find the option that says "National Lok Adalat 2023 Token Registration" and click it to go to the following page.
Step 3 - You will now see an option regarding the Challan Waiver / Settlement; select it to go to the following page.
Step 4 - The last step requires you to enter your vehicle number and download any outstanding challans you want to waive or settle.
Step 5 - After downloading the digital copy of the challan, print it out to carry it to the nearby district court on the scheduled date.

The token registration for the National Lok Adalat, scheduled for September 9, is expected to commence approximately 4 to 5 days before the scheduled date. While the National Legal Services Authority has not officially confirmed the exact date and time for the activation of the token registration window, it is highly anticipated that it will begin around September 4 or 5.
