Delhi National Lok Adalat On October 25: How To Clear Your Pending Traffic Challans; Check Required Documents

Delhi National Lok Adalat Details: If you have old or pending traffic challans on your vehicle and are looking to settle them without lengthy legal procedures or hefty fines, the National Lok Adalat will be held in Delhi on October 25. This time, the Lok Adalat sitting is meant for the amicable settlement of all civil and criminal compoundable cases (except divorce matters).

The national lok adalat will be held across Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Saket, Dwarka, and Rouse Avenue court complexes

If you've got traffic challans stuck on the Virtual Court portal, minor violations that can be legally settled by paying a fine instead of going through a lengthy trial issued up to June 30, 2026, are going to be eligible.

Litigants and violators can download their challan slips through the link from October 5 at 10 am onwards. However, there will be a daily limit of 50,000 challans, with an overall limit of 2 lakh challans.

For motorists, this provides an opportunity to settle eligible challans by paying a reduced fine or, in some cases, getting the fine waived.

Delhi Lok Adalat: How to Book an Appointment?

Registration is mandatory for anyone who wants to participate in the Lok Adalat.

- Go to https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/lokadalat

- Enter your vehicle number and the verification code shown in the captcha.

- Complete the OTP verification and select the eligible challans you want to settle.

- Next, Choose your preferred Delhi District Court complex and an available time slot, then download or print your appointment token.

- After booking a slot, applicants must download and print the challan copy.

- Bring a printed copy of your downloaded challan slip and appointment token (no printing facilities are available at the court), along with your vehicle’s original Registration Certificate (RC), Driving License, valid insurance, and a Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate.

- Present your documents at your allocated court complex, where the magistrate will review the case and may waive or significantly reduce your fine.

Note: Walk-ins will not be accepted at any Delhi court complex on Lok Adalat day.

Delhi Lok Adalat: What Cases Can Be Taken Up?

Eligible offenses: Overspeeding, red-light jumping, no helmet, no seatbelt, missing insurance, and wrong parking.

Not eligible: Drunk driving, hit-and-run, anything linked to an FIR, or any non-compoundable offense.

National Lok Adalat October: Check Required Documents

Vehicle owners need specific documents to get their traffic challans waived or reduced. These may include a photocopy of the challan, the vehicle’s Registration Certificate (RC), Driving Licence, identity card, a photocopy of the summons or notice, an earlier challan payment receipt, and an authorisation letter, wherever applicable.
