BMW S 1000 R Price in India: BMW Motorrad has launched the updated version of the S 1000 R hypernaked motorcycle in India at Rs 19.90 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The latest BMW S 1000 R goes against the Ducati Streetfighter V4 (Rs 24.62 lakh, ex-showroom) and the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP (Rs 12.36 lakh, ex-showroom) in terms of market competition. It can be had in 3 variants (Standard, Style Sport and M Sport Package) and 3 paint options (Blackstorm Metallic, Bluefire/Mugiallo Yellow, and Lightwhite Uni/M Motorsport). The first two are availble with the Style Sport, while the third one is offered with the M Package.
BMW S 1000 R: Features
Unlike the previous version that features a single vertical headlamp setup, the new iteration gets a split headlamp design. Also new for the model are daytime riding lights with Headlight Pro, along with M Quick Action throttle, Dynamic Traction Control, and ABS Pro. The updated model also offers 3 ride modes (Road, Rain and Dynamic), all taken care of by a 6.5-inch TFT display, which comes with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. Other bits include a USB Type-C charger and an intelligent emergency call feature (E-Call).

BMW S 1000 R: Optional Bits
Furthermore, BMW offers three optional packages – Dynamic, Comfort, and M Sport, bringing functional enhancements. These include heated grips, shift assistant pro, dynamic damping control, cruise control, keyless ride, and M-specific bits such as a lightweight battery, a tricolour livery, and a sport seat.
BMW S 1000 R: Engine, Top Speed, Weight
The mechanical components remain the same, though. Powering the supernaked bike is the familiar 999cc inline-4 liquid-cooled engine, which is tuned to produce 168bhp at 11,000rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 9,250rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

0-100km/h comes in a claimed time of 3.2 seconds, and an electronically limited top speed is capped at 250km/h. With the M Sport package, the kerb weight sits at 196kg.
