New Maruti Suzuki Swift: Maruti Suzuki, one of India’s largest automobile manufacturers, is gearing up to launch the fourth generation of the Swift hatchback in India. The Maruti Suzuki Swift is set to be launched in the Indian market tomorrow, on May 9. The Maruti Suzuki Swift has already been launched in the Japanese market. Bookings for the Maruti Suzuki Swift have already commenced with around 11,000 bookings received. Interested buyers can book the new Swift at a booking amount of Rs 11,000 with deliveries expected to commence later this month.
Maruti Suzuki Swift - Variants
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to be available in three primary variants - LXi, VXi, and ZXi. Additionally, leaked documents suggest a new VXI(O) variant is likely to be introduced and the top-end ZXi will also offer a ZXi+ variant with the most features.
Maruti Suzuki Swift - Price Expectations
This updated Swift will compete with rivals like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago. The outgoing Swift is available with prices starting at Rs 7.16 lakh that go up to Rs 10.55 lakh (ex-showroom). However, Maruti Suzuki is expected to price the new Swift more affordably, with a starting price below Rs 7 lakh and the top-end variants priced just under Rs 10 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Swift - Design
The design of the new Swift will see several changes, including a reworked grille with an all-black treatment, tweaked LED headlights and DRLs, updated taillights, and refreshed alloy wheels.
Maruti Suzuki Swift - Interior
Inside, the new Swift will come equipped with new features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an updated digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as standard. The top-end variants will boast a larger 9-inch touchscreen, along with features like a 360-degree camera, Head-up Display, wireless charging, rear AC vents and more.

Maruti Suzuki Swift - Powertrain
The most significant change in the new Swift is under the hood, where Maruti has introduced a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. This engine will be paired with a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT gearbox, delivering a power output of 80 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. Although the new engine is slightly lower in power than the current-gen Swift, the new engine promises an impressive mileage of 25.72 kmpl.
