New Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric SUV: Mercedes-Benz has dropped a teaser image of the new-generation electric GLC SUV on its official website, announcing that the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC EV will debut on September 7 at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich, Germany.
New Mercedes-Benz GLC: Teaser Previews New Grille
The upcoming electric SUV - marketed as the GLC with EQ Technology - will feature a brand-new grille design that will replace the blacked-out grilles, as Mercedes-Benz moves toward dropping the 'EQ' nameplate currently used for pure-electric vehicles. In place of the classic all-black grille, German luxury brand Mercedes-Benz will bring a 'reimagined iconic grille' with a chrome frame, a smoked-glass-look lattice structure, and integrated contour lighting. That, however, is for the base version.
Per the teaser, the optional illuminated version of the grille will have a total of 942 animated backlit pixel dots, bringing the 'electric GLC to life'. From this, the influence of the classics, such as the W 108 and the 600 Pullman, is readily apparent. Also, the new grille will bear an illuminated three-pointed star logo, creating what the company says is a strong visual identity shaped by a 'Sensual Purity' design language. Other visible bits include angular LED headlamps and grey accents on the front bumper.

Not just the new GLC, other Mercedes-Benz models including ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) ones will also get a new version of the grille. 'Our new iconic grille is not just a new front for the GLC, it redefines the face of our brand,' said Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer, Mercedes‑Benz Group AG.
'It is the perfect fusion of lasting design codes reinterpreted for the future, making our cars instantly recognizable.'
New Mercedes-Benz GLC: Interior
Inside, the upcoming GLC will have an updated MBUX Hyperscreen running the brand's new MB.OS software. As a result, customers will be able to gain access to smoother animations and sharper visuals. Other details including battery specifications and range figure are under wraps; you will have to wait till the company comes up with fresh details.
