Nissan C SUV Creta Rival: Nissan is preparing to launch its new C-segment SUV in India next year, but not before the new-generation Renault Duster. Positioned as a rival to the Hyundai Creta and the new Maruti Suzuki Victoris in the segment, the upcoming Nissan C-SUV has been undergoing real-world testing on public roads for some time now, although it has failed to give us a peek inside. However, the latest spy images have remedied that by offering us a good look inside the cabin.

In addition to a 3-spoke steering wheel-mounted functions and behind-the-steering-wheel positioning of a cruise control stalk, one can spot a digital instrument cluster, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, and knobs for climate control. Though under the wraps, a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is expected to be offered.

Higher-spec variants are likely to come with ventilated seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera.

On the outside, the upcoming C SUV is expected to get a wide grille (with Nissan badging), C-shaped LED DRLs, and a carved-out bonnet. Along the sides, the SUV could feature 5-spoke alloy wheels and flared wheel arches with thick cladding, similar to those on the test mules. At the rear, Nissan is likely to offer a spoiler, roof rails, rectangular LED taillamps, a shark-fin antenna, and a rear wiper and washer (for higher-spec variants).

Nissan C  SUV: Powertrain

Under the hood, the Nissan C SUV is expected to share mechanicals with its Duster sibling. A petrol powertrain is likely to be offered at launch, followed by the CNG version. It is unclear whether Nissan will bring in the petrol-electric powertrain for the SUV.

The 7-seater Nissan SUV is also in the pipeline, and expected to arrive in 2027. Nissan currently retails the Magnite and the X-Trail in India.
