Safest SUV In India:  Car safety has become a top priority for Indian buyers in recent years. The country’s car market has also seen a massive change, and while Hatchbacks and Sedans used to be popular earlier, more and more people are leaning towards SUVs now. The country also got its own NCAP crash test facility in 2023, which is known as Bharat NCAP. While Tata and Mahindra are popular for their safe SUVs, recently a Maruti Suzuki SUV has become the highest to score in the crash tests organised by Bharat NCAP. Do you know which SUV it is? Maruti Suzuki SUV: Top Scorer In Bharat NCAP

Before we tell you about the Maruti Suzuki SUV that has scored the highest rating in the Bharat NCAP, it is important to understand that we are talking about the ICE cars and not the EVs. The safest SUV in the country currently is the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Victoris. It has scored 31.66 points out of a total of 32 points for adult protection, and 43 points out of a total of 49 points for the child occupant protection.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Safety Ratings Explained

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris has scored a total of 15.66 points out of 16 points for the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test. The Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test depicts a real-world head-on collision. During this test, a car hits an aluminium barrier at a set speed, and the impact of the collision is decoded from the sensors placed on the robots sitting in the car. The Victoris by Maruti Suzuki has also scored 16 out of a total of 16 points for the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. The Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test depicts a situation where a moving object hits the car from the side. The Maruti Suzuki Victoris has also scored a dynamic score of 8 out of 8 and 4 out of 4 for front and side collisions for the child occupant. The Victoris also gets a 12 out of 12 points for CRS installation, and 7 out of 13 points for the vehicle assessment score.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Safety Features

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is loaded with advanced safety features, and it is the first Maruti car to receive a Level-2 ADAS suite. The ADAS suite on Maruti Suzuki Victoris gets features such as lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitor, and more. Additionally, the SUV comes equipped with safety features such as a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), an ISOFIX child seat mount, and three-point seat belts for all the passengers.
