Ola S1 Z and Gig Models Delivery Delay: Ola S1 Z and Gig variants are the most affordable models offered by the brand in India. The company recently stated that it is delaying the deliveries of both of these models. The brand offers S1 Z and S1 Z+ variants under the S1 Z nameplate, whereas it offers Gig and Gig+ variants under the Gig name.
Ola S1 Z And Gig Delivery Delay: Reason
While addressing the Investors, Ola CEO and Founder Bhavish Aggrawal announced, “We are delaying the S1 Z, Gig/Gig+, and some other future products and will sequentially launch these products such that each product receives the right customer mindshare.” Citing the reason, Bhavish told investors, “Our focus right now is the Roadster platform, which is Roadster X, X Plus, and then the Roadster itself, Roadster and Arrowhead. The Gig, Gig Plus, Z, as well as the three-wheeler platforms, will be a little later.”

Ola S1 Z And Gig Scooters
The Brand launched S1 Z and Gig scooters in India in November 2024. While the S1 Z is priced at an introductory price of Rs 59,999, the S1 Z+ is priced at Rs 64,999. Both of these scooters come equipped with a portable battery with a claimed range of up to 146 Km on a single charge. The Gig scooter is priced at Rs 39,999 while the Gig+ variant costs Rs 49,999. The Gig gets a single portable 1.5 kWh battery with a claimed range of up to 112 Km. The Gig+ gets an extendable portable battery setup, which can accommodate two batteries, and it has a claimed range of up to 157 Km.
Increasing Challenges Vs Ola
The challenges for Ola in the Indian two-wheeler EV market are constantly rising, with brands like Bajaj and TVS strengthening their positions. The brand is also facing some operational, registration, and servicing-related issues. The brand recently announced that it now has more than 4000 stores in total, and the service turnaround time has also been reduced. The company’s sales fell in FY25, and recently it lost its number position in the Indian EV two-wheeler market.
