Premium EV Cars In India: The Indian automotive industry has been rapidly growing as we have become the third largest car market in the world. The automotive industry of India has been making significant strides in various segments which include SUVs, compact SUVs and electric vehicle models. Talking about electric vehicles, multiple manufacturers have been introducing EV models in various price ranges. Tata Motors has significantly captured the affordable EV segment in India with models like Tiago EV, Tigor EV, Nexon EV and the recently launched Punch EV. 

The premium EV segment comprises models such as the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo XC40 Recharge, Volvo C40 Recharge, BMW iX1 and the newly launched BYD Seal sedan. Among these models, the best selling vehicles are the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Volvo C40 Recharge. After the launch of the BYD Seal, another model has been added to the pack. Kia EV6 - In India, the Kia EV6 is offered in two versions: the EV6 GT Line and the EV6 GT Line AWD. Both these variants of Kia EV6 are priced between Rs 60.95 lakh and Rs 65.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia EV6 boasts a top speed of 192 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. The EV6 delivers an ARAI claimed driving range of 708 km.

Volvo C40 Recharge - The Volvo C40 Recharge is offered in a sole variant, the C40 Recharge E80. The Volvo C40 Recharge is available in India at a price tag of Rs 62.95 lakh (ex-showroom). It is equipped with an all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and boasts a top speed of 186 km/h. Additionally, it offers an ARAI claimed driving range of 683 km.

BYD Seal - BYD Seal has recently been launched in India in the premium electric sedan segment. BYD Seal is available in India with its prices ranging between Rs 41 lakh and Rs 53 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available with both single motor and dual motor configurations, while offering three different battery pack options. BYD Seal can reach a top speed of 180 km/h and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in mere 3.8 seconds. Different battery packs offer a driving range varying between 510 km to 650 km.

Among all these three models, BYD Seal is a good option if you are a sedan enthusiast. However, if you are looking for a high-riding electric vehicle, Kia EV6 is the preferred choice as it offers more options to customers than the Volvo C40 Recharge. You can either go for the EV6 GT Line or the EV6 GT Line AWD variant. It also offers an enhanced driving range of 708 km, in comparison to the 683 km driving range of the C40 Recharge.
