Renault Kwid EV India Testing: Spy shots of the much-awaited Renault Kwid EV have surfaced again, revealing fresh details about the model in question. While fully under wraps, the test model's seemingly new front fascia (featuring Y-shaped LED DRLs and redesigned LED headlamps), and a hood scoop confirm that it is the electric Kwid hatchback. One can also find black finishes for the outside rearview mirrors, wheel hubcaps, and wheel arch cladding, suggesting that the test model could be either a base or a mid-spec variant. Other bits include a conventional antenna, a spoiler, a rear wiper, and defoggers.

Renault Kwid EV: Interior, Features

The interior is yet to be revealed, but we expect it to be similar to the Kwid EV's Dacia sibling, the Spring EV. If it materialises, the upcoming Renault Kwid EV will get an all-new dashboard dominated by a 10.0-inch free-standing touchscreen, along with a new steering wheel, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, and the HVAC control panel derived from the Duster. An ADAS suite with an advanced emergency braking system is also on the cards.

Renault Kwid EV: Battery, Range

Overseas, the Dacia Spring EV is offered in 45bhp and 65bhp electric motors, both transmitting power to the front wheels. Regardless of the motor, the Spring EV gets a single 26.8kWh battery, delivering a claimed range of 225km. A 20–80 per cent charge takes about 45 minutes (claimed), using a DC fast charger. It remains to be seen which of the motor options Renault will offer for the Kwid EV.

The Renault Kwid EV could arrive in India sometime in 2026, with prices expected to range between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the Tata Tiago EV and the MG Comet EV.
