Rohit Sharma New Car: Rohit Sharma, former captain of India's cricket team, has purchased the Tesla Model Y electric SUV to add to his garage, which also includes the luxurious, orange-coloured Lamborghini Urus SE. The Indian cricketer wearing a black tee was spotted driving his new electric SUV from the US-based EV maker on the streets of Mumbai, courtesy of a video shared by @rushiii_12. 

Rohit Sharma's Tesla Model Y: Why is it Special?

Like the Lamborghini Urus SE, Rohit Sharma's Tesla Model Y features a personalised number plate – 3015 – a nod to the birthdates of his children (Daughter's DOB: December 30, Son's DOB: November 15) as well as his jersey number (45). Other than that, the SUV appears neat and boasts no other customisations or add-ons. In addition to the Lamborghini Urus SE, the Indian cricketer also owns the BMW M5 (F1 Edition), Mercedes-Benz GLS 400d, and the Toyota Fortuner.

Tesla Model Y Price in India

Tesla offers the Model Y in India in two versions: Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive. The former is priced at Rs 59.89 lakh, while the latter costs Rs 67.89 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom), making the electric SUV one of the priciest high-end EVs in India. 

Tesla Model Y Range, Battery

The entry-level variant delivers a WLTP-claimed range of 500km using a 60kWh battery, while the Long Range version claims 622km (WLTP) with a 78.1kWh pack. 0–100km/h is possible in a claimed time of 5.6 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 201km/h.

Tesla Model Y Features

Features include a 15.4-inch touchscreen, wireless connectivity, a premium sound system (with 9 speakers), a panoramic glass roof, a heated windshield, an in-built dashcam, heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and an ADAS suite.
