According to a report by Autocar, Petr Janeba, the brand director of Skoda Auto India, has confirmed the return of both the Superb and the new Octavia. He has outlined Skoda's strategy in the country, emphasising two key areas in India: locally manufactured cars, like the Kushaq and Slavia from the Pune factory and locally assembled models, such as the Octavia and Superb from the Aurangabad plant.

The Skoda Octavia and Superb will initially make a comeback in the country as CBU units, with the previous-generation Superb slated to hit showrooms first, exclusively in the top-tier Laurent and Klement trim. This reintroduction is expected within the next few months. However, the launch of the all-new fourth-gen Superb will likely follow approximately a year later due to global availability constraints and regulatory considerations.

The imported Skoda Superb is anticipated to feature a BS6 Phase 2-compliant 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, delivering 190 bhp and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG twin-clutch gearbox. It is anticipated that the Skoda Superb will be available in India at a starting price of around Rs 43 lakh (ex-showroom).

While no timeline has been specified for the return of the Skoda Octavia in the country, Skoda has promised its commitment that the Octavia sedan will not be removed from the brand’s lineup in the country until 2034 and will also receive all global updates and facelifts.
