Czech automaker Skoda Auto is gearing up to unveil its electric vehicle (EV) during its annual press conference on March 15. Ahead of the official unveil, Skoda Auto has released a teaser video of the upcoming electric vehicle model. This upcoming Skoda EV will be positioned as the brand’s smallest and most budget-friendly EV yet. It is expected that it will first be launched in international markets and will then make its way to India. Skoda also plans to launch its Enyaq EV in India by the end of 2024.

This upcoming Skoda EV is expected to be priced around Rs 23 lakh in India. Skoda aims to make electric mobility more accessible with this new offering. This upcoming electric car will complement Skoda's existing global EV lineup, which currently boasts the Enyaq EV in various configurations. Not a lot of information is known about the upcoming EV, however, the teaser video reveals that it features a hatchback-like design and slim LED headlights with illuminated Skoda branding. It is likely that this upcoming EV will be built on Volkswagen Group's MEB Entry platform. This upcoming Skoda EV is expected to offer two battery pack options - a 38 kWh battery pack and a 56 kWh battery pack. It is likely that this upcoming Skoda EV will deliver a maximum driving range of 450 km on a single charge.

Will It Launch In India?
In international markets, the upcoming Skoda EV will compete with other electric hatchbacks models like the Volkswagen ID.2. This new Skoda EV will initially debut in global markets, followed by its launch in India. However, its specific launch timeline in the country has not yet been decided. Skoda has expressed its intention to enter the mass-market electric car segment in India, aligning with the country's growing electric vehicle market. Meanwhile, Skoda is preparing to launch the Enyaq EV in India later this year. The electric SUV was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Skoda has revealed that the Enyaq EV will initially arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) in the country.
