Snow Driving Tips: The winter season is at its peak right now and we are all planning to enjoy this cold weather by taking a road trip up the mountains. However, this is also a very critical time to drive in such weather as there is constant low visibility and fog in all hilly areas. Moreover, if you go further up, you will also encounter snow in some areas and driving in such conditions can be challenging. Therefore, we are here to help you follow these key tips while driving in snowy conditions.
Do Not Overspeed
Driving fast on snow covered and icy roads can be extremely dangerous. Speeding in such conditions isn't just risky for you and your passengers but it can also be a danger to other cars on the road. During winters, it's crucial to be extra careful because of low visibility, fog, icy roads and slippery conditions.

Turn On Lights And Indicators
In cold weather conditions, it is essential to use all lights and accessories that are equipped within your car to see better. When driving in snow, remember to turn on your blinker before turning left or right. This helps other drivers know where you're going and reduces the chances of an accident.
Defrost Windows And Windshield
During the winter season, it is extremely important to clear the frost and snow from your car windows and windshield. The windows tend to get foggy and snow can cover the windshield, reducing visibility. Ensure to use the wipers to wipe off the snow and defrost the windows and windshield.
Do Not Use Cruise Control
It is strongly advised to not use cruise control when driving on snowy or icy roads. Even if the road seems just wet, there might be hidden ice or unplowed snow. If you use cruise control, you might lose control of the car because the system might not respond as fast as you can if the road gets slippery.

Clean Headlights And Taillights
Another important thing to keep in mind is to clean the snow off your car's headlight regularly. Headlights help you in seeing far ahead and you want others to see you too, therefore, it is essential that you clean the headlights often. Use a microfiber towel, tissue, paper towel, or newspaper to wipe each light.
