Indian automobile giants like Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai Motors and more have recently been witnessing rapid sales growth owing to the ongoing festive season in the country. Manufacturers have launched various limited edition models specifically for the festive season that were targeted at increasing the sales figure. Automobile manufacturers shared their October Sales Results, here’s how the companies have fared in October 2023.

Tata Motors
Tata Motors reported a 5.89 per cent rise in its total sales to 82,954 units in October 2023 compared to 78,335 units in the same month last year. The total domestic sales stood at 80,825 units against 76,537 units in October 2022, a growth of 6 per cent. Sales of passenger vehicles, including electric vehicles, in the domestic market were at 48,337 units compared to 45,217 units in October 2022, up 7 per cent. Its total commercial vehicle sales grew by 4 per cent last month to 34,317 units from 32,912 units in October 2022.
Mahindra & Mahindra
Mahindra & Mahindra said its total wholesales increased 32 per cent year-on-year to 80,679 units in October, its highest-ever sales in a month. Mahindra dispatched 61,114 units to dealers in October 2022. The company recorded its best-ever monthly sales performance for both - sports utility vehicles and commercial vehicles in October 2023. The utility vehicle dispatches rose by 36 per cent year-on-year to 43,708 units in October compared to 32,226 units in the year-ago period.
Hyundai Motor India
Hyundai Motor India’s total wholesales rose 18 per cent year-on-year to 68,728 units in October. The South Korean automaker had dispatched 58,006 units in October 2022. Its domestic sales increased by 15 per cent to 55,128 units last month, from 48,001 units in the same month a year ago. Exports rose 36 per cent year-on-year to 13,600 units in October this year.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) said its sales increased by 66 per cent year-on-year to 21,879 units in October. The company had dispatched 13,143 units in October 2022. Last month, TKM sold 20,542 units in the domestic market and exported 1,337 units.
MG Motor India
MG Motor India reported a 17 per cent increase in retail sales at 5,108 units in October 2023, as compared to the same month last year. Sales of EVs continue to contribute around 25 per cent of the total sales of the company.
