Tata recently revealed the facelift of the ICE Nexon model and now following that, Tata has revealed the facelift of the Nexon EV which will now be called the Nexon.ev under Tata.ev’s new brand identity. The facelift not only includes aesthetic changes but modifications to the powertrain as well. The bookings for the new Nexon.ev will begin tomorrow with a token amount of Rs 11,000, same as the ICE Nexon Model.
Exterior Design:

Inspired by the Curvv concept, the Tata Nexon EV boasts a sharp exterior design.

Improvements in aerodynamics have been made to enhance range.

The Nexon EV features a single-tone body-coloured grille, while the ICE version has a blacked-out grille.

The standout feature is a full-width LED light bar running across the front, which also serves as a charging status indicator.

It sports a new split headlamp design with sequential LED daytime running lights (DRLs).

The EV comes with new alloy wheels.

At the rear, it features connected LED tail lights with a bigger roof-mounted spoiler.

A huge bumper that is finished in the body colour is present at the back.
Interior Design:

The cabin layout of the Tata Nexon EV is similar to the new Nexon.

The gear selector dial has been replaced with a regular gear selector

It features a larger 12.3-inch display compared to the regular Nexon, with a new UI.

There's a new 10.25-inch instrument display that can display data from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto directly in the driver's view.

The EV features a new two-spoke illuminated steering wheel.

New HVAC controls with toggle switches have been introduced.

Notable features inside the cabin include a 360-degree camera, SOS call button, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, air purifier, Type-C ports, sunroof, JBL audio system, voice commands, and more.

The cabin gives a feeling of premium hi-tech interiors with not many physical controls.

Battery Options:

Tata has introduced new names for the Nexon EV, MR (Medium Range) and LR (Long Range) instead of Prime and Max.

The MR variant is equipped with a 30kWh battery pack, while the LR variant features a larger 40.5kWh battery pack.

Tata claims a range of 325 km for the MR and 465 km for the LR.
Motor Technology:

The Nexon EV comes with a new Gen-2 PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) that is 20 kg lighter than the previous motor.
The LR variant boasts a 144bhp motor, while the MR variant features a 129bhp motor, both delivering 215 Nm of electric torque.
Tata claims that the LR variant has an acceleration time of 8.9 seconds from 0-100 km/h and a top speed of 150 km/h.

Charging Options:

Tata includes a 7.2kW AC charger as standard equipment.

Charging the MR variant from 10% to 100% using an AC charger takes approximately 4.3 hours, while the LR variant takes around 6 hours.

The Nexon EV can be charged in only 56 minutes using a DC charger.

The Nexon EV offers V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) and V2L (Vehicle to Load) features, allowing it to charge other EVs and power appliances.
In terms of safety, the EV gets six airbags as standard with front parking sensors, a blind view monitor, ESC, ISOFIX anchors, three-point seat belts for all passengers, hill descent and ascent control, all-wheel disc brakes, panic brake alert, and emergency and breakdown call assist.
The Nexon.ev will be available in three trims - Creative, Fearless and Empowered. All of them will have different colour themes and upholstery. The launch of both ICE Nexon and Nexon.ev is scheduled to take place on September 15 and that is when the prices will be revealed for both the models. Though, it is expected that the Nexon.ev will be priced between Rs 15 to 21 lakh (ex-showroom).
