The Tiago iCNG AMT will come in three variants – XTA CNG, XZA+ CNG, and XZA NRG, whereas the Tigor iCNG AMT will be offered in two variants – XZA CNG and XZA+ CNG. Both the models will also get new colour scheme options which include the Tornado Blue in the Tiago, Grassland Beige in Tiago NRG and Meteor Bronze in the Tigor.

The Tata Tiago CNG Automatic and Tigor CNG Automatic are expected to be equipped with the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine as their manual versions. This engine produces a power output of 73.4 bhp and 95 Nm of torque in CNG mode. In petrol mode, it generates 86 bhp and 113 Nm of torque.

The new Tata Tigor iCNG AMT and Tiago iCNG AMT variants will have twin CNG tanks under the luggage area to save space in the boot. A single ECU ensures smooth transitions between petrol and CNG modes and the cars start directly in CNG mode in order to save fuel. When you open the fuel lid, a micro switch turns off the ignition and keeps it off until the lid is closed securely. For safety, the iCNG technology cuts off CNG supply in case of a thermal incident, releasing gas into the atmosphere through a special nozzle. The twin CNG cylinders are placed under the luggage area for safety, protecting valves and pipes. The technology also quickly detects gas leaks and switches from CNG to petrol mode.
