Tesla Model Y In India: Tesla Model Y was launched in India on July 15, 2025, with the opening of the brand’s first showroom in Mumbai. The Model Y is offered in a total of two variants: a standard Rear Wheel Drive and a long-range Rear Wheel Drive model. The all-electric SUV by Tesla has not received the anticipated response. Tesla Model Y: Slow Start
As per a report by Bloomberg, the all-electric Model Y SUV by Tesla has received an underwhelming response in India. The brand has received only 600 bookings so far in the country, and the number falls short of the company’s open expectations. The brand will begin deliveries of the Model Y SUV from September 2025 onwards, and consumers from Delhi, Gurugram, Pune, and Mumbai are expected to receive their Tesla Model Y on priority.

Tesla Model Y: Range & Features
The Model Y comes equipped with a 15.4-inch touchscreen inside the cabin, which controls most functions in the car. It also gets a panoramic glass sunroof and an electrical liftgate. The Model Y boasts some of the most advanced ADAS features, which include a blind spot monitor, lane keep assist, and more. The standard variant of the Model Y has a claimed range of up to 500 kilometers, whereas the long-range model of the SUV is claimed to deliver up to 622 kilometers in a full charge.

Tesla Model Y: Pricing & Variants
The brand has offered Model Y in India with two variants: a standard rear-wheel drive and a long-range rear-wheel drive model. Both of these variants are powered by the same 62.5 kWh battery pack, and while the standard variant has an ex-showroom price of Rs 59.89 lakh (Ex-showroom), the long-range model gets an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 67.89 lakh (Ex-showroom).
