Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Recall:  Toyota, the Japanese car manufacturer, recently issued a recall for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV. The Hyryder is a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer, also issued a recall for the Grand Vitara models recently. Let’s take a look at the reason behind the recall and the affected models here.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Reason & Affected Models

As informed earlier, Maruti Suzuki has also issued a recall for the Grand Vitara. Toyota has also issued a recall for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder for the same reason. The Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder share the same issue, which is a faulty fuel level indicator. The brand has issued a recall for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder units manufactured between December 2024 and April 2025, and a total of 11,529 units are expected to be affected by the recall. As per the information shared by the brand, the recall will affect only the units that feature an analogue instrument cluster.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Outsold Innova Duos

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has been performing well for Toyota, and it outsold the Innova duo, the Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross in October 2025. A total of 11,555 units of the compact SUV by Toyota were sold in October 2025, and it recorded a 201% year-on-year growth.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Powertrain

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is available with multiple engine options, and consumers can choose between a mild hybrid, a strong hybrid, and CNG powertrains. The mild-hybrid variants of the SUV are powered by a 1.5-litre K-series engine, which generates peak power and torque output of 101 bhp and 136.8 Nm, respectively. The strong hybrid variant uses a 1.5-litre TNGA engine, which is paired with an electric motor. The Strong Hybrid trims are the most fuel-efficient, and they have an ARAI claimed mileage of up to 27.97 km/l.
