The Triumph Daytona 675 was one of the most admired super sports bikes and still has a huge fan following among bikers. With a new model that shares its underpinnings with the 660cc triple-cylinder framework that now powers the Trident 660 and the Tiger Sport 660, Triumph appears to be bringing the legendary Daytona back. While there are many similarities between this new Daytona 660 and the older 660s, there are also some significant changes.

Triumph Daytona 660: Design

The Daytona 660's design aesthetic is heavily influenced by the Tiger Sport 660, thus, at first look it offers a recognisable picture. Twin LED headlights with similar shapes are included on top, along with a simple tail lamp. The five-spoke alloy wheels, number plate holder, and tail panels all adhere to the same style. The Trident 660 also has some of these elements.

These are the only reminiscing features that it offers as the new Daytona has full side fairings to make it appear like a true sport bike, in contrast to the Tiger Sport's half fairing. Likewise, the top cowl (headlight housing) has a redesigned windscreen and rearview mirrors for better aerodynamics. Consider the headlamp to be a combination of the now-discontinued Daytona 675 and the Tiger Sport.

Triumph Daytona 660: Specifications

The Daytona 660 is likely to share its engine, main frame, and swingarm with the Trident 660, so power outputs should remain similar at around 81 bhp and 64 Nm. It is unclear if Triumph will have a different gearing with the Daytona 660 given that the Tiger Sport 660 and Trident 660 share the same gearing. The exhaust features a distinct extended pipe, possibly to meet strict noise regulations in some countries.

Additionally, the display resembles that of the other two Triumph 660 models, and it should feature similar functions. The Daytona 660 is expected to include the same electronic rider aids as the previous two bikes, including a bidirectional quick-shifter, two riding modes (rain and road), and a basic traction control system.

Triumph Daytona 660: Prices

Currently, the Tiger Sport 660 is priced between Rs 9.34 lakh and Rs 9.47 lakh, while the Trident costs Rs 8.25 lakh. The Daytona 660 is expected to be in the same pricing range as the Tiger Sport.
