TVS Apache RTX 300 Launch: TVS Motor Company has launched its Apache RTX 300 at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 1.99 lakh for the Base variant in India, marking its official entry into the adventure rally tourer segment. At the top of the heap sits the BTO (Built to Order) variant priced at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Note that the prices are introductory. Interestingly, the Apache RTX is the first TVS to get the in-house, new-generation engine platform developed with decades of racing and rally experience, according to the brand.
TVS Apache RTX 300: Engine, Output
Speaking of, the Apache RTX 300 adventure rally tourer uses a 299.1cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine, delivering 35.5bhp at 9,000rpm and 28.5Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. Revealed at last year's TVS MotoSoul, the new engine, named RT-XD4, features dual overhead camshafts (for high revs), dual oil pumps (with split chamber crankcase), a dual breather system (to prevent aeration), and dual cooling jackets (for enhanced performance). The engine is also compatible with ethanol-blended fuels.
TVS Apache RTX 300: Electronics, Ergonomics
The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, accompanied by a slip-and-assist clutch. Other electronics aids are a bi-directional quickshifter, ride-by-wire, cruise control, traction control, wheelie mitigation, terrain-adaptive ABS, and four ride modes (Rain, Urban, Tour, and Rally). With a focus on comfort for extended rides, the Apache RTX has upright ergonomics. Besides, the bike's improved weight distribution and balanced rider triangle ensure stability on both tarmac and trails.

TVS Apache RTX 300: Hardware
Built on a purpose-built steel trellis frame, the Apache RTX 300 is available with a long-travel inverted front fork from WP, and a long-travel monotube rear shock with a floating piston. Braking duties are taken care of by dual discs with ABS.

Designed for those seeking adventures, the Apache RTX has a muscular silhouette with a forward-leaning stance, rally-inspired lines, and a sculpted fuel tank. It also gets a Class-D headlamp (with unique DRLs) and taillamp blades. The headlamp comes with a welcome animation and dynamic intensity control (that adjusts with the speed of the bike).
Colour options are Metallic Blue, Viper Green, Pearl White, Lightning Black, and Tarn Bronze, all with signature Apache Red inserts. Instrumentation-wise, TVS offers a 5.0-inch TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The display also shows ride-related information.

Customers also benefit from a comprehensive range of accessories, including a raised front fender, a bash plate, knuckle guards, a rear hugger fender, and a USB charger. Also available are quick-release side panniers as well as a Monolock top box, both from GIVI.
