Musical Road Mumbai: Car owners in Mumbai will now enjoy an enriching driving experience along the Mumbai coastal road, as a 500-metre stretch was recently designed to become India’s first Musical Road. A Video showing the Musical Road in Mumbai in action has now gone viral on the social media platform Instagram.
What Is A Musical Road?
A musical road uses small rumbles to create vibrations and audible rumbling that can be felt inside the car and on the outside. The rumbles are designed very carefully to create a melody when a car passes over them at a certain speed. The concept was first used in Denmark in 1995. The Musical Road in Mumbai has been inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also shared that the first Musical road in India is based on Hungarian technology.

As informed earlier, a video featuring the Musical Road in Mumbai in action has been shared on the social media platform Instagram, and the video has now gone viral. The video was shared on Instagram by a page named ‘ThebalVaibhav’. The video shows a vehicle passing over small rumbles carefully designed to play the tune of the AR Rahman Song-Jai Ho. The video shared by the page has gathered more than 5 lakh views so far. An Instagram user praised the move by the government and commented, ‘Exactly what Mumbai was missing.’ Another user asked curiously, ‘Can we customise the song?’ A user commented sarcastically, ‘Potholes will add bass.’
