World EV Day 2023: EVs have recently become very popular not just in India but globally as well. There are many reasons as to why people across the globe are transitioning towards electric vehicles. For beginners, it saves a lot of expenditure spent on refuelling the vehicle. Secondly, a lot of experts are claiming that EVs boast a better performance than the traditional ICE cars.
The Indian automotive industry has recently started incorporating more and more EVs. With the introduction of locally produced EVs like Tata Nexon.ev and Tata Tiago.ev, the switch towards EVs has seen a boost. It is also known that Mahindra is in the works to produce EV alternatives of their popular off-roader SUVs, Thar and Bolero. Along with these Indian originated brands, international automotive manufacturers like Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai and Kia have also been launching their EV models in India. Therefore, promoting the growth of the EV industry in the nation.

On the occasion of World EV Day 2023, we would like to make you aware of some of the best electric cars out there that aren’t yet available in India.
Rimac Nivera
The Rimac Nevera is the world's fastest electric car, limited to just 150 units. It has four motors, one at each wheel, producing up to 1813 bhp with a 117.0-kWh battery. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 1.85 seconds and reaches a top speed of 412 km/h, with a range of 329 km.
GMC Hummer EV
The legendary Hummer has been reborn as the electric GMC Hummer EV pickup truck. Its currently available powertrain features three electric motors producing 1000 bhp. It boasts an acceleration time of 3.3 seconds to go from a stand still to 100km/h. It is equipped with a huge 205 kWh battery that offers an estimated 529 km of driving range on a single charge.
Tesla S Plaid
The Tesla Model S Plaid boasts a tri-motor setup, delivering a total output of 1020 bhp. This immense power enables the car to go from 0-100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds. Additionally, the long-range variant of the Model S offers an impressive range of 651 km.
Nissan Ariya
Nissan's flagship electric SUV, the Ariya, hit the U.S. market in the fall of 2022. It provides an impressive driving range of up to 489 km. The Ariya offers two battery options: a standard 63 kWh battery and an optional larger 87 kWh pack. The high-end e-4ORCE Platinum+ model accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds.

Lucid Air Dream Edition
The Lucid Air Dream Edition features a dual-motor setup with a total power output of 1080 bhp. It can reach a top speed of 270 km/h and accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. Equipped with a substantial 113 kWh battery pack, it offers an impressive driving range of 809 km.
