Yamaha Aerox Electric Scooter: Yamaha has raised the excitement in India's electric two-wheeler space with the introduction of the electric derivative of the Aerox, dubbed the Aerox-E. The newly unveiled Aerox-E is poised to intensify competition within the country's expanding performance electric scooter segment, which is currently dominated by the Ather 450 Apex, Ola S1 Pro, and the TVS X. Yamaha has yet to disclose the prices of the Aerox-E, but has revealed some significant details.

Yamaha Aerox Electric: Battery, Range 

The new Aerox-E is equipped with dual 3kWh detachable batteries, returning a certified range of 106 kilometres, according to Yamaha. The dual detachable batteries are paired with an electric motor that produces 9.4kW and 48Nm. The setup delivers what the company says is instant acceleration with efficient power management. Yamaha also says that the dual batteries are powered by high-energy type cells for 'extraordinary' performance, and features ergonomic grips that can be easily removed for home charging.

Yamaha Aerox Electric: Features

The Aerox-E features a twin LED headlamp system, a 3D-effect LED taillamp, a smart key system, and a colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. The display supports Yamaha's Y-Connect App connectivity, enabling riders to view maintenance reminders and their last parked location. 

Safety features include traction control and a front disc brake with single-channel ABS. Riders can toggle between three ride modes – Eco, Standard, and Power. The brand also offers a Boost mode for quick acceleration, as well as a reverse mode for added convenience. The scooter tips the scales at 139kg (kerb).
