Yamaha India has launched the highly anticipated R3 and MT-03 in the Indian market on Friday. Yamaha India will be bringing both the Yamaha R3 and Yamaha MT-30 as a Completely Built Unit. Therefore, both these motorcycles have been launched in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.65 lakh for the Yamaha R3 and Rs 4.60 lakh for the Yamaha MT-03.

However, the popular Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has added that if both these sub-400 cc motorcycles receive an enthusiastic response in the market, they will start offering the R3 and MT-03 as a CKD unit which will result in price reductions. Both the R3 and MT-03 will be sold exclusively through Yamaha’s Blue Square dealerships in the country. 

Yamaha R3 and Yamaha MT-03 - Engine Specs 

Talking about the power figures of Yamaha R3 and Yamaha MT-03, they are equipped with a 321 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that is capable of producing a power output of 42 bhp and 29.6 Nm of torque and this mill is paired with a six-speed gearbox unit. For suspension duties, they are equipped with an inverted fork and monoshock setup. For braking responsibilities, they feature disc brakes on both ends with dual-channel ABS. They are also equipped with a LCD display for bike related information. 

Yamaha R3 and Yamaha MT-03 - Design 

Talking about the appearance of Yamaha R3, it is available in two colour scheme options - Icon Blue and Yamaha Black and the Yamaha MT-03 is available in two colour schemes which are Midnight Cyan and Midnight Black.

Yamaha R3 and Yamaha MT-03 - Rivals 

Once both these motorcycles hit the Indian roads, the Yamaha R3 will compete with models like TVS Apache RR 310, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the KTM RC 390. Similarly, the Yamaha MT-03 will compete with models like the TVS Apache RTR 310, BMW G 310 R, KTM 390 Duke and the QJ Motor SRK400.
