Amrit Bharat Update:  In a bid to benefit millions in North Bihar, the Sonpur Railway Division has decided to transform Ramdayalu Railway Station into a major coaching hub. Under the Amrit Bharat Yojana, Ramdayalu Railway Station will be developed at a cost of Rs 28 crore, aiming to significantly improve rail connectivity in Bihar and reduce pressure on the overcrowded Muzaffarpur Railway Station.

This ambitious plan will not only improve accessibility to passengers but also introduce new stoppages of key trains, including those heading towards Delhi or Mumbai, Jagran.com reported.

Amrit Bharat Yojana: Ramdayalu Station To Be Transformed

Under the Amrit Bharat Yojana, a three-tier team comprising supervisors, specialists in operations, electrical, commercial, and signalling, has already begun the preliminary work for the development of Ramdayalu Station. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared and sent to the General Manager of East Central Railway, followed by a review by the Railway Board.

According to the officials, survey work at the supervisor level has already started. During the survey, it was found that several areas around the station had been encroached upon, and efforts to free up the land are already underway. Once the survey work is completed, additional land will be acquired, and the cost will be determined to transform the station into a coaching hub.

Ramdayalu Station To Feature Skywalk Bridge, Expanded Platforms

A three-foot-high skywalk bridge will be constructed connecting the National Highway and Ramdayalu Railway Station. The proposal has received approval from the authorities, and the survey has also been completed. Motorists and pedestrians can use the skywalk bridge to travel from Rayadalu to Patna, Bairiya and Bhikhanpur.

Once the Ramdayalu Railway Station will be fully developed, there will be a significant increase in passenger traffic. To accommodate the increased traffic and important trains, the station's platform will be expanded. These changes will make Ramdayalu Railway Station a crucial stop on the network, like Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna.
