The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the launch of ECINET, an app with over 40 features for voters, political parties, and election officials. With an attractive user interface and simple user experience, it will integrate over 40 mobile and web applications.

This eliminates the need for users to download numerous apps and remember different logins. This digital initiative was envisioned by Chief Election Commissioner Shri Kumar during a conference of Chief Electoral Officers in March 2025, also attended by Election Commissioners Shri Sandhu and Shri Joshi.

ECINET will provide access to all necessary election information on desktops or smartphones. Data entry will be restricted to authorised election officials to ensure authenticity. In case of disputes, the primary data filled in legal forms will prevail.

ECINET will benefit nearly 100 crore voters, 10.5 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs), 1.5 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties, 45 lakh polling officers, 15,597 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 4,123 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), and 767 District Election Officers (DEOs).

The Election Commission will launch this platform after rigorous testing to ensure performance, ease of use, and cybersecurity. Information provided by ECINET will be legally protected under the Representation of the People Act 1950 and 1951, the Registration of Electors Rules 1960, the Conduct of Elections Rules 1961, and instructions issued by the Commission.
