Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to 101 newly selected assistant architects at a ceremony organised by the Building Construction Department at Samvad, located in the Chief Minister's Secretariat. The appointments were made through the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).
Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Chief Minister extended his congratulations and best wishes, expressing confidence that they would perform their duties responsibly and contribute meaningfully to the state’s infrastructure development.
“It is a matter of great happiness that today, 101 assistant architects have received their appointment letters. I congratulate you all and expect you to fulfil your responsibilities diligently,” the CM said.
During the event, the Chief Minister symbolically distributed appointment letters to a few selected candidates, including Ankita Prasun, Nayan Deep, Chhotu Kumar, Akash Kumar, Mohammad Mehndi Hasan, and Shalini Saha.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Building Construction Minister Jayant Raj, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, Development Commissioner Pratyaya Amrit, and other senior officials.
Officials highlighted the significant role architects have played in the construction of several landmark buildings across the state under CM Nitish Kumar's leadership. With the induction of these new assistant architects, the government aims to ensure better adherence to building bylaws and improved supervision of construction projects.
To address the increasing need for technical oversight in large-scale construction activities, a dedicated Architect Service Cadre has been established under the Building Construction Department.
The services of these newly appointed architects will also be utilised by other departments, including the Home, Urban Development and Housing, Education, Road Construction, Tourism, and Industry departments, in addition to the Building Construction Department.
