Recalling the state’s electricity scenario before 2005, the Chief Minister said, “Even in the capital Patna, electricity was available for only seven to eight hours a day. After our government took charge in November 2005, the energy department’s budget was increased, and electricity supply was gradually expanded to cover all villages and hamlets.”

Highlighting the success of the Saat Nischay scheme, he added, “Under the scheme launched in 2015, electricity was provided to every household in the state by October 2018, two months ahead of schedule. Since then, all newly built homes and hamlets have been electrified.”

On electricity affordability, Nitish Kumar said, “From the very beginning, our government has ensured electricity is supplied at cheaper rates than the actual cost. From the July bill onwards, all domestic consumers now receive up to 125 units of free electricity per month. Currently, 1.89 crore households are benefiting from this initiative.”
