A large number of Divyangjans (persons with disabilities) gathered at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s residence to express their gratitude for the government's recent decision to increase the monthly social security pension from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100. The Chief Minister welcomed them warmly and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of all sections of society, including people with disabilities.
The visitors, visibly moved, presented bouquets to the Chief Minister and lauded the decision as a historic and revolutionary step. They stated that the substantial hike in pensions has boosted their morale and brought hope for better financial stability. Many hailed the move as a landmark initiative that would uplift the lives of thousands of Divyangjans across Bihar.
Addressing the gathering, CM Nitish Kumar congratulated the Divyangjans and assured them that the government is working continuously for the holistic development of Bihar and the upliftment of every marginalised section. "Whatever your needs may be, the government will ensure they are met," he added.
The enthusiastic attendees also raised slogans in support of the Chief Minister, praising him for prioritising social welfare through decisive action.
The occasion was marked by the presence of several senior leaders and officials, including Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Liquor Prohibition, Excise and Registration Minister Ratnesh Sada, MLAs and MLCs, JDU State President Umesh Kushwaha, and senior bureaucrats including Principal Secretary to the CM Deepak Kumar and Dr S Siddharth, along with representatives of disability rights organisations.

The event reflected growing public appreciation for the state government’s focus on inclusive welfare policies under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
