On the lines of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the construction of a grand temple dedicated to Maa Janaki has commenced at Punauradham in Bihar. The new temple will be built entirely using red sandstone sourced from Bansi Paharpur in Rajasthan, ensuring architectural uniformity across the complex.

The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) is overseeing the project, with the construction process initiated through tenders issued by the Tourism Department.

In addition to the main temple, the project includes extensive tourist facilities such as a circumambulation path, ramparts, yagya mandap, a museum, an auditorium, cafeteria, children's play area, Sita Vatika, Luv-Kush Vatika, a dharamshala, a parking space, and a road exhibition centre. Maa Janaki Kund will also be beautified as part of the development.
