Bihar Election 2025: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released its second list of 12 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly election. The party has fielded Singer Maithili Thakur from the Alinagar seat. Apart from this, former IPS officer Anand Mishra has been fielded from the Buxar seat. While announcing the second list, the party stated that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will repeat its government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Apart from Maithili Thakur and Anand Mishra, the saffron party's list include Ranjan Kumar from Muzaffarpur — replacing sitting MLA Suresh Sharma — Ram Chandra Prasad from Hayaghat, Subhash Singh from Gopalganj, and Chhoti Kumari from Baniapur. The party has also announced candidates for Chapra, Sonepur, Rosera (SC), Barh, Shahpur, and Agiaon (SC). Maithili Thakur was given ticket on the key seat in Darbhanga district, a day after joining the saffron party.
Earlier on Tuesday, the BJP released its first candidates' list for the upcoming polls. The list carried 71 names, including Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers - Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha. While Sinha will contest Lakhisarai seat, Samrat Chaudhary has been fielded from the Tarapur constituency. Bihar Minister Nitish Mishra is set to seek re-election from Jhanjharpur seat.
