Dhumal Singh Profile: Manoranjan Singh, also known as Dhumal Singh (66), is an Indian politician from Bihar. In the upcoming Bihar Election 2025, Janata Dal (United) has fielded Singh from the Ekma constituency in Bihar's Saran. He is a well known and an influential name in Bihar politics.

Ekma is one of the 243 assembly constituencies in Bihar. RJD’s Srikant Yadav is the sitting MLA from the Ekma after winning in 2020. JDU’s Dhumal Singh had won the seat in 2015. Voting for Ekma Vidhan Sabha seat will take place in the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections on November 6. The results will be declared on November 14.

Dhumal Singh Political Career

2018: Involvement in extortion racket related to iron ore transportation in Bokaro.

2015: Defeated BJP's Kameshwar Kumar Singh and re-elected Ekma MLA as JDU candidate.

2014: Lost after contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Maharajganj on a JDU ticket.

2010: Defeated Kameshwar Kumar Singh and elected Ekma MLA again, representing JDU.

2000: Elected as an independent MLA from the Baniapur Assembly constituency in Saran.

November 2005: Won from Baniapur Assembly constituency again on JDU ticket.

February 2005: Contested on Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) ticket and re-elected Baniapur MLA.

Before 2000: Involved in multiple alleged criminal activities across several states in India.

Dhumal Singh Criminal Records

Dhumal Singh has over 100 cases registered against him in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Mumbai, and Jharkhand. In his affidavit for the 2015 assembly elections, the leader had stated that he had nine criminal cases pending against him. These included four murder cases and one attempted murder case.

Dhumal Singh Net Worth And Assets

Dhumal Singh has a net worth of Rs 3.29 crore. According to the Lok Sabha Election 2024 affidavit, Dhumal Singh declared total assets worth Rs 3,51,83,301. His liabilities then stood at Rs 23,11,198.

Ekma Demography

Ekma had 303,364 registered voters in the 2020 Assembly elections. As per the Election Commission’s data scheduled castes made up 12.27 per cent (37,223), while Scheduled Tribes accounted for 3.67 per cent (11,133). 10 per cent (30,336) of the electorate were Muslim voters. The registered voters climbed to 312,376 in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Ekma recorded a dismal voter turnout of 50.71 per cent in 2020.
