Bihar Elections 2025: Patna District Administration filed an FIR against JD(U) leader Lalan Singh, alias Rajiv Ranjan Singh, after a video surfaced showing the Union Minister telling a gathering not to allow a section of people to leave their homes to cast their votes. The district administration said they took action after reviewing footage from the video surveillance team.

Reacting to a video clip posted by senior journalist Ravish Kumar, District Administration Patna, "The video footage of the video surveillance team was examined by the Patna District Administration. Following the investigation, in this case, an FIR has been registered against Shri Lalan Singh alias Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Representation of the People Act. @CEOBihar @ECISVEEP."
'Intimidate some Oppn Leaders On polling Day In Mokama': Lalan Singh In Video
Earlier, Singh triggered a controversy with the surfacing of a video in which he can be purportedly heard asking NDA supporters to confine people from the rival party. The video is said to be of Mokama, which falls under Lalan's Munger Lok Sabha seat. The Mokama constituency has been in the news after the arrest of JD(U) candidate Anant Singh in a case related to murder of Jan Suraaj Party supporter Dular Chand Yadav.

"There are some people out here whom you must not allow to venture out on polling day. Lock them up inside their homes. If they cajole you, accompany them to polling booths and ensure that they go home after casting their vote," Singh can be heard saying, in Magahi.
Controversial former Bihar MLA, Anant Singh, who seeks to reclaim Mokama seat, along with his two other associates -- Manikant Thakur and Ranjeet Ram -- were arrested in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday in connection with the murder of Jan Suraaj Party supporter.
