With preparations for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections intensifying among all political parties, seat-sharing talks within the state's major alliances, the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan, are now in their final stages.
Amid these developments, Pashupati Kumar Paras, chief of the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) and a member of the Mahagathbandhan, has made a statement on seat allocation that may increase concerns for alliance leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav.
Paras stated that his party has conducted a survey and will be strategic in its demands. "We will only demand those seats where we are confident of winning. We will not demand unnecessary seats," he said. He emphasised that the primary objective is to form a Mahagathbandhan government. "I will only request those seats where we have strong candidates. I am confident that we will achieve a 100 per cent strike rate," Paras added.
Targets CM Nitish Kumar
Simultaneously, the RLJP chief launched an attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's long tenure. "One person has been in power in Bihar for 20 years. The people of the state had elected Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister with great expectations. However, we did not get the expected results," Paras remarked.
He claimed that after conducting meetings in 32 districts, his party has concluded that "the people of Bihar are now in the mood for a change."
