Bihar politics has reached yet another intriguing turn. While seat-sharing arrangements within the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) remain unresolved, the CPI(ML) has announced its list of candidates ahead of any final agreement. The party has even allotted election symbols to its nominees. Among the most notable names is Divya Gautam, cousin of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, whose candidacy is already drawing considerable attention.
The CPI(ML) has nominated Divya from Digha. Besides Divya Gautam, Rambali Singh has also been nominated from the Ghosi seat.
On the other hand, newcomer Madan Singh Chandravanshi has been nominated from Tarari, while the party has once again expressed confidence in Qayamuddin Ansari from Ara. MLA Sandeep Saurabh has been nominated from Paliganj, and Shiv Prakash Ranjan has been nominated from the reserved seat of Agiaon.
Meanwhile, talking to PTI, Communist Party of India (ML) Liberation General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said that the way has been cleared for the party to contest elections on at least 18 seats, while talks are going on for some more seats.
Bhattacharya said his party's candidates will start filing nominations from Tuesday, though the grand alliance has not yet made a formal announcement about seat sharing.
CPI Finalised Names Of 6 Candidates
On the other hand, the CPI(M) has also given nomination symbols to six candidates, confirming their candidacy. District committees have also approved the respective candidates' names and sent their recommendations to the state secretariat.
According to the party, outgoing MLA Ramratan Singh has been given the ticket from Teghra and Suryakant Paswan from Bakhri.
Similarly, former Legislative Councilor Sanjay Kumar Yadav has been made the candidate from Banka, former MP and MLA Awadhesh Kumar Rai from Bachhwara, Ramnarayan Yadav from Jhanjharpur and Rakesh Kumar Pandey from Harlakhi.
These seats were secured by the Communist Party of India (CPI) in the Grand Alliance. Additionally, the party has demanded to contest the Goh, Beldaur, and Kesaria seats.
