Bihar Election 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has identified all sensitive assembly constituencies and polling booths for the two-phase voting during the upcoming Bihar elections. The Commission has set the general time limit for the assembly elections from 7 am to 6 pm.
Bihar will hold assembly elections in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with vote counting scheduled for November 14. The results will determine whether the incumbent NDA government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, retains power or if the opposition alliance, which includes the RJD, Congress, and other parties, succeeds in unseating it.
According to the notification, voting time in 10 of the 121 assembly constituencies in the first phase has been set from 7 am to 5 pm. The constituencies where the one-hour cutoff has been implemented in the first phase include Kalyanpur, Warisnagar, Samastipur, Ujiarpur, Morwa, Sarairanjan, Mohiuddinagar, Vibhutipur, Rosera, and Hasanpur, jagran.com reported.
Meanwhile, voting will be held until 4 pm at 56 booths in the Suryagarha assembly constituency, which is also part of the first phase.
Out of the 122 assembly constituencies of the second phase, voting will take place in four assembly constituencies - Govindpur, Jamui, Jhajha and Chakai - two hours before the scheduled time, that is from 7 am to 4 pm.
In the second phase assembly constituencies, polling will be held from 7 am to 4 pm at 121 booths of Katoria, 140 booths of Belhar, 62 booths of Chenari, 25 booths of Goh, 26 booths of Navinagar, 169 booths of Kutumba, 57 booths of Aurangabad, 125 booths of Rafiganj, 12 booths of Gurua, 48 booths of Sherghati, 354 booths of Imamganj, 36 booths of Barachatti, and 36 booths of Bodhgaya from 7 am to 5 pm only. Voting will be held from 7 am to 5 pm at 106 booths of Bodhgaya assembly constituency.
Vigilance Increased On India-Nepal Border
Vigilance has been increased along the India-Nepal border in view of the Bihar Assembly elections. IG of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Patna Frontier, Nishit Kumar Ujjwal, reviewed the operations carried out this year along the Nepal border.
According to the SSB, this year, 14 cases of third-country nationals crossing the Nepal border have been detected, resulting in 25 arrests. Last year, nine arrests were made in six cases. Similarly, this year so far, 8,958 kilograms of narcotics have been seized, resulting in 216 arrests.

In 2024, 9,316 kg of narcotics were seized in 244 cases, with 245 arrests. This year, 182 weapons were recovered, with 25 persons arrested, compared to 43 weapons recovered and 21 arrests last year.
This year, 143 traffickers have been arrested in human trafficking cases, while 271 minors and adults have been rescued. Last year, 107 traffickers were arrested while 200 were rescued. Forty-five prisoners who escaped from Nepalese jails following the Gen-G movement have been apprehended. Of these, the highest number of 42 were arrested from the Muzaffarpur sector headquarters.
