Bihar Election Result: A day after receiving humiliating defeat in the Bihar Assembly election, the Tejashwi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Saturday stated that the "ups and downs" are inevitable in the "endless journey of public service". In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the RJD asserted that it represents the poor, adding that the party will keep raising their issues. The major opposition party of the state managed to win only 25 of the 143 seats it was contesting, its second-worst performance after the 2010 Assembly election.

In its post on X, the RJD stated that winning and losing is part of the process of public service, adding that the party will keep raising the issues of the poor. "Public service is an unceasing process, an endless journey. Ups and downs are inevitable in it. No sorrow in defeat, no arrogance in victory," RJD stated in its post in Hindi. The RJD managed to win only 25 out of the total 143 seats; however, its vote percentage remained the highest at 23 per cent.

While the opposition party managed to get 2.92 per cent more than the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), it also got 3.75 per cent more than the Janata Dal United (JDU). The party's performance was a major setback for Tejashwi and other top leaders,, as the party emerged as the single largest party in the 2020 Assembly election by winning 75 seats. Apart from this, Tejashwi Yadav could only win after a nail-biting contest against Raghopur against BJP's Satish Kumar.
The RJD-led Mahagathbandhan could only manage to win 35 seats, with its allies, Congress, left parties, and VIP managing to win seats in single digits. The Nitish Kumar-led NDA registered victory on 202 seats, its highest after the 2010 Assembly election.
