Bihar Elections 2025: Political tensions spilled onto the streets in Bihar’s Lakhisarai on Thursday when Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha confronted an RJD MLC in the middle of the road. The confrontation took place as voters were heading to polling booths for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, with Sinha and RJD MLC Ajay Kumar exchanging strong accusations on the spot.
“Daaru peekar kaise muh mehak raha hai… (look how your mouth stinks due to alcohol),” Sinha remarked to Kumar, who was leaning out of his car and blocked by the deputy CM in Lakhisarai.
This was just one of several sharp exchanges between the two leaders, witnessed by a number of media persons present at the scene.

Vijay Sinha repeatedly accused the RJD MLC of being drunk and disrupting a polling booth, while Ajay Kumar countered by calling him “scared,” claiming Sinha feared losing the election.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha accused “goons” of the RJD, the main opposition party, of “attacking” his convoy in a Lakhisarai village, his constituency, following complaints that voters were being “terrorised.”
The deputy CM, who seeks a fourth consecutive term from the Lakhisarai assembly segment, told reporters, "I was receiving complaints from the village since morning. Our polling agent was shooed away by RJD goons who had also terrorised local voters, mostly Dalits and extremely backward classes. So, I chose to come here myself."
"These are the goons of RJD. Satta mein aa rahi hai NDA isliye inke chhati pe bulldozer chalega (The NDA is coming to power, bulldozers will crush their chests) The goons are not letting me visit the village. Vijay Sinha is going to win...They turned away my polling agent and did not let him vote. Look at their hooliganism. These are the 404 and 405 booth numbers of Khoriari village," Sinha said at the location.
