Bihar elections 2025: The Bhojpuri singer and actor Pawan Singh's wife, Jyoti Singh, met Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor in Patna on Thursday. After meeting Kishor, she said the meeting had no connection with the Bihar election and she had not asked for a ticket.

Singh said, "I did not come here to contest an election or seek a ticket, I came here to ensure that no other woman has to face the injustice I faced... I want to be the voice of all such women. So I met Prashant bhaiya. There was no discussion on elections or tickets. I have come here just for all those women."

Jan Suraaj Releases 1st List Of 51 Candidates, Including Bhojpuri Singer

The development comes a day after the Jan Suraaj Party released its first list of 51 candidates for the Bihar assembly elections. The candidate list included Bhojpuri singer Ritesh Pandey, who was fielded from Kargahar constituency.

Meanwhile, the meeting of Jyoti with the emerging political figure in Bihar also comes amid the dramatic husband-wife dispute, which created headlines in the last few days.

Husband-Wife Dispute Draws Attention

Recently, Jyoti and Pawan both held separate press conferences trading charges against each other. Jyoti claimed that the actor used her for the Lok Sabha campaign, and after the defeat, he deserted her. A few days ago, she arrived actor's home in Lucknow and created a dramatic scene there as police personnel stopped her. She went live on social media, seeking justice for herself. On the other side, the singer clarified his stand, claiming that she had been pressuring him to get her a ticket for the election.

Bhojpuri Singer Pawan Singh Meets Top BJP Leaders

Pawan Singh on Tuesday met senior BJP leaders Amit Shah and party president J P Nadda, besides their Bihar ally Upendra Kushwaha, in what is being seen as the ruling alliance's bid to iron out wrinkles in its social alliance ahead of the Bihar assembly elections.

He first met Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) president Kushwaha, who had suffered defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls due to Singh's decision to contest as an independent from Karakat. He was accompanied by BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde and party secretary Rituraj Sinha. The meetings marked his return to the NDA fold after the split in the Lok Sabha elections. However, both sides insisted that he is with the BJP. The BJP had expelled him last year for anti-party activities after he decided to contest the Lok Sabha election as an independent against the ruling alliance nominee, Kushwaha.
